Job Summary:

A Production Cabinet Maker at Newell Coach fabricates, assembles, and finishes high-quality cabinetry and furniture components in a manufacturing setting, often using saws, drills and routers. Key duties include interpreting blueprints, performing precise cuts, assembling parts with adhesives and fasteners, sanding, and applying finishes and laminates. They must ensure all products meet quality standards, maintain a safe, clean work environment, and work efficiently to meet production schedules.

Duties:

  • Production & Fabrication: Cut, shape, and form wood, plywood, and laminate materials according to technical drawings, blueprints, or production orders.
  • Assembly: Assemble cabinet parts, drawers, and doors using pneumatic tools, nails, screws, and adhesives.
  • Machine Operation: Operate, set up, and maintain industrial machinery, including table saws, edgebanders, and boring machines.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished components for accuracy, structural integrity, and aesthetic quality, correcting any defects.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a clean workstation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with woodworking machinery, power tools, and hand tools.
  • Measurement Accuracy: Strong ability to read tape measures and blueprints, ensuring precision in cuts.
  • Material Knowledge: Understanding of different wood types, laminates, and composites.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a cabinetry shop, furniture manufacturing, or woodworking environment is typically required.

Common Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Relevant training, such as a cabinetmaking apprenticeship or vocational carpentry program
