Job Summary:

The Apprentice Program is a 24-month program designed to provide the experience and training to Paint Apprentices to grow them into Full Production Painters. Apprentice Painters will progress through 3 different skill levels based on performance reviews and skills tests.

Job Duties:

• The Paint Apprentice will be working on paint department duties as determined by the paint supervisor. This will initially include sanding, prepping, taping, painting small parts, painting chassis, and other job duties that fit within the specific employee’s skills and development.
  As part of the nature of the apprenticeship program, Paint Apprentices will frequently be working on tasks normally completed by full Production Painters. This is designed for them to gain real world experience in higher level skills, and is a vital part advancing Apprentices through the Program and into Full Production Painters.

Advancement Levels within the Paint Apprentice Program:

• Beginner Paint Apprentice (Target timeframe: New to 12 months)
• Advanced Paint Apprentice (Target timeframe: 12 to 24 months)
• Full Production Painer (24+ months)

Minimum Qualifications for Entry Level Paint Apprentice acceptance

• Must have documented work history in a related role, or applicable experience or education.
• Must pass Paint Apprentice Interview (and/or written test)
• Must pass all required Entry Level Paint Apprentice Skills Test sections.

Job Summary:

Newell Coach is hiring a Tile Layer to join the team that builds the most innovative and respected motorhomes in the industry. Candidates must have demonstrable experience in all areas of tile laying, flooring installation, and shower installation. A skills verification test will be required for all qualified candidates.

Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate the following skills:

• Surface Preparation: Cleaning, leveling, and preparing surfaces for tile installation.
• Measurement and Cutting: Measuring areas and cutting tile to fit around obstacles and into odd spaces.
• Tile Installation: Applying mortar to tiles, positioning them, and affixing them to the surface.
• Grouting and Finishing: Applying grout, removing excess grout, and applying sealants to protect the tiles.
• Wood flooring installation.
• Problem Solving: Removing and replacing damaged or cracked tiles.
• Estimating: Calculating the amount of materials needed for projects.
• Strong communication skills: Ability to positively interact with design and engineering team members.

Required Skills and Characteristics:

• Physical Strength and Stamina: Tile laying requires lifting, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of tile setting techniques, including measuring, cutting, and applying grout.
• Attention to Detail: Precise installation and a keen eye for detail are crucial for a quality finish.
• Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with customers and team members.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Addressing unexpected issues and finding solutions on the job.

Experience with the following Tools and Materials:

• Measuring Tools: Tape measures, squares, and levels.
• Cutting Tools: Tile saws, nippers, and wet saws.
• Mortar Mixing Tools: Trowels and buckets.
• Grouting Tools: Floating tools and grout floats.
• Cleaning Tools: Scrapers, sponges, and grout cleaners.
• Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, gloves, and knee pads.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required.
• Strong experience with tile laying in a residential setting.
• Ability to read and take accurate measurements.
• Ability to lift and hold in excess of 50 lbs.
